Website www.ridziniekakarte.lv will have a publicly open section, where everybody will be able to find information about discounts for Rigans and apply for Riga resident’s card, and also a closed section – an e-shop which can be accessed with bank authorization or a special password which will be sent to the client’s e-mail. In the closed section of the website users of Riga resident’s cards will be able to buy any types of tickets loadable to Riga resident’s card. They will be also able to reload their e-wallets attached to Riga resident’s cards to pay for parking in zones B, C and D with a 20% discount, as well as to manage the contents of their Riga resident’s cards.
“Rīgas satiksme” reminds that from July 1 holders of Riga resident’s card will be able to buy 1-hour ticket for forking days for EUR 1.15 and for holidays for EUR 0.60. A passenger having bought such a ticket will be able to make an unlimited number of trips and transfers during one hour. The last trip can be registered even in the 59th minute, and then the trip can be continued to the necessary destination regardless of its duration.
Five 24-hour for 15 days can be used either on five days in a row or in any other sequence within 15 days. Tickets shall be registered every time the passenger enters public transport. The last ticket’s registration shall be started on the 14th day, as the ticket will expire at 23:59 of the 15th day.
Also starting from July 1 holders of Riga resident’s card will be able to pay for parking services in zones B, C and D with a 20% discount. To use this benefit, you have to activate e-wallet on your Riga resident’s card, which enables paying for parking services with Riga resident’s card, to which electronic money has been transferred. If your Riga resident’s card was issued before January 2016, you shall go to one of „Rīgas satiksme” customer service centres to activate your e-wallet.
You can apply for Riga resident’s card electronically at www.ridziniekakarte.lv (authentication via i-bank) and receive it in one of “Rīgas satiksme” customer service centres or apply for and receive it in the customer service centre at once. You can book a time for visiting the customer service centre in advance by calling toll free phone 80001919 or electronically.
- Riga resident’s card is issued to persons who have declared their residence/own a real estate in Riga.
- When applying for Riga resident’s card, a valid identity document (a passport or an ID card) has to be presented.
- The card is issued for free for the first time. If the card is lost, a duplicate will cost EUR 2.85.
- If you have a personalized e-ticket, you can exchange it for Riga resident’s card free of charge.
Riga resident’s card has several functions:
- personalized e-ticket used in Riga public transport, including fare discounts, if the person is entitled to them;
- e-wallet, a payment function added to the card, which enables payments for parking lots operated by “Rīgas satiksme”;
- discount card for services provided by Riga municipality, its institutions and their partners;
- social card – catering services for persons with low incomes who are provided with hot meals;
- access control card – electronic key in dwelling houses, areas etc.
